The Importance of Sensor Data Analysis in Decision Support for Intensive Livestock Production

In recent years, the application of information technology solutions has become increasingly important in large-scale livestock production systems. The analysis of data from often multimodal sources is essential and may lead to decision-support solutions that significantly improve the profitability of livestock farms. The use of images and videos captured by cameras to identify behavioural patterns within animal populations, as well as to detect potential anomalies at an early stage, represents a challenging research area of international relevance. The database underlying the topic was collected under large-scale production conditions and originates from the supervisor’s and their research group’s own research activities. Depending on the specific requirements of the topic, the student will work in cooperation with domain experts. With the support of the supervisor(s), the student may also prepare a Student Scientific Association paper and a publication related to the chosen research topic.
