Computer Science Engineering (BSc)

Our training provides a wide range of knowledge and expertise in one of the most dynamic sectors of the domestic and international market. You will become a professional with practical software development and application skills that meet the needs of the labour market, while at the same time providing you with the theoretical foundation to continue your studies at MSc level. The aim of our MSc is to graduate with competitive skills, up-to-date technological knowledge and the ability to successfully enter the world of work.

If you apply for a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, you’ll have the right skills in the following areas:

  • advanced programming and software technology skills;
  • use of the latest and most popular graphical programming environments;
  • database design, Big Data and business intelligence;
  • installation, configuration and development of modern operating systems and computer networks;
  • installation, operation and security of server services;
  • application development on mobile platforms (Android, iOS, Windows Mobile);
  • design and programming of target computer systems for the management and control of electronic equipment;
  • programming of robotic systems;
  • cloud computing technologies and information security skills.

In addition to these IT skills, you can gain further in-depth knowledge and practice in a chosen field (e.g. bioinformatics, robotic applications, intelligent IT systems).

The bachelor’s degree in computer engineering is 7 semesters. The diploma requires 210 credits.
To obtain a bachelor’s degree, you must have a state-recognised intermediate level (B2) complex language examination or equivalent diploma or certificate in at least one foreign language.

Studying with us will give you a broad professional grounding in the first few semesters, followed by a mastery of the core IT subjects. The core curriculum consists of modules in systems engineering, software engineering and IT systems. You will be required to demonstrate your mastery of the core knowledge by successfully completing the professional diploma at the end of the first stage of your studies.

From the 4th semester onwards, you can study the specialisation in Cloud Service Technologies and IT Security, which will provide you with in-depth, specialised theoretical and practical knowledge in this field of IT in the curricular application of IT.

You will also be expected to complete an appropriate number of electives during the foundation and specialisation courses. These subjects deal with popular, topical issues in computer science, giving you the opportunity to gain additional knowledge in cutting-edge areas of computer science.

In the final year of your training, the main aim is to write a thesis, for which you can get professional help during your placement, even from the companies concerned.

You will also have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge during your specialisation with our international partner universities through an Erasmus scholarship.

Specialization

Cloud service technologies and IT security specialization

On the one hand, the specialization covers the core topics related to the design and management of the most important components of IT infrastructures, including the networking, storage and computing layers, with special focus on the issues of IT security and feasible virtualization solutions.
On the other hand, the specialization puts strong emphasis on the server-side features and recent technologies of inherently distributed IT systems (platforms) developed above such layers, such as cloud services or container solutions.
The main aim of the specialization is to provide a system approach to the challenges of comprehensive thematic areas labeled with IoT, Big Data, and DevOps, concerning the efficient use and various security aspects of the involved IT resources (infrastructure).
