Intelligent Transportation Systems

Vehicles are increasingly integrating advanced technologies that connect them to the surrounding infrastructure.
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) are automotive systems that incorporate information and communication technologies utilized in road transport. The integration of connectivity in the automotive systems not only increases the vulnerability of the vehicles, but also transforms them into potential attack surfaces for the intelligent transportation system.
The Intelligent Transportation Security research group (InTraSec) encompasses hands-on, systematic security research targeting in-vehicle systems, network infrastructure, and communication protocols. Our research topics include secure communication, embedded security, wireless technology, and more. We work together with the cybersecurity lab, Security Operation Center on the topic of Vehicle Operation Center (V-SOC) and 5G for vehicle communication (5G-V2X) security.
Our goals include the creation of a database for automotive threats, the development of formal security models, and the generation of attack and defense graphs.
Our lab is equipped with a modern vehicle prepared for security research, complemented by equipment and essential software tools.
